Hey Family!

I'm officially writing my first blog as an 18 year old! Don't you all feel old? ;]
Hahaha. My birthday was wonderful. I got balloons from Claire and love from everyone else. People got me cute little presents it was fun. And yes if you didn't hear already, mom pulled me out of school, and she and I went to a spa and got messages and facials. It was AMAZING! As in, so good, I'm thinking of wanting to go into a trade school for message therapy. I got the underneath of my hair dyed back brown and some low lights so my hair looks a lot darker. I like it a lot a lot. Everyone told me it makes me look older or more mature though... yuk.

Yesterday at school we had an orientation for the in coming freshman to Higley so I got out of most of my classes. Yay, two days of little schooling! But my hard classes that matter are in the morning so I still got the not fun part of school haha.

Then after school I went to Mill Ave with Miranda and Colten, my two very best friends. We went shopping and I got a caramel apple cider from Starbucks [SO YUMMIE] and a necklace manda bought me for my birthday. Its a Celtic pendant meaning wisdom. They gave me wisdom cuz they say I'm like their mother and i always take care of them. Especially manda because she has so many health problems. hahaha
Manda has a pendant that means friendship because shes super friendly and colt has one that means love because he loves everyone. :] Cool huh?
we took a TON of pictures on our trip. Practically documenting the whole thing. Here i'll put them up. so you can see my new hair too.
These first three pictures are while we were waiting on the football feild for freshman orientation to start. We were with the DJ club so we set up all the speakers and music stuff and were just dancing around and stuff listening to music.

Then the next pictures are a few of our adventure at mill ave. First miranda being super uncoordinated fell and scraped up her knee so me being all 'motherly' as they call it ran with her to starbucks to clean her knee up. Colten bought us stuff while i was doing that. we had to look through a few stores to find band-aids but we finally got them and i patched up her knee. Then Miranda was trying to drink coffee and an anergy drink and i wouldn't let her i was trying to take them away. And yes at that point I found a ribbon in my vest pocket and Colten tied it around my head. But I just left it there. I'm not one for caring to much about what I look like. Hahahaha.
And then the last one was a base player who just played on the side of the street. It was really cool! There was a saxaphone player down the street too but we didn't get any pictures with him sadly.

Sorry you had so look at lame pictures and be bored with the lame stories that a little highschooler thought was so much fun. But hey. You took the time to read it instead of just skipping over it so i don't pity you too much. hahaha. Juuust kidding. Anyways.

After our adventure at mill Claire took me to Applebees with some other people and we all got dessert and i got a free one for my birthday. :D Then we went to see Hes Just Not That Into You. It was really cute! It wasn't what i expected to be but it was still pretty good overall. Then I got to spend the night at Claire's but we just came home and slept because we were SO TIRED from freshman orientation and all that other stuff.
But it was a good night!
So I pretty much had the best birthday weekend ever. Thank you all for all your calls and stuff. I love you all alot!
I hope everyone is doing well, and being happy!

Tada!!

I have a few fiddler photos for you!!
I'll get more up later, these are just the ones I took. :]

Amanda, Me, Bianca, and Jill.
I very very much love these girls

Bianca all dressed up to be Fruma Sara!
The three of us are trying to look scared of her haha.

The main crew I chilled with.
In back theres Me, Jill, Bianca, Kody, and Amanda
in front Sabrina and SkylerThese were my daughters in the play.
Even tho Amanda was taller than me...
We would joke she was my unmarried sister that lived with us. :DMore cool people. The new people are DJ [in brown]
Chris Udall [the guy in front in blue] and his little sister Katy [the girl with the pink skirt]
everyone else has been in a picture before
We took these at intermission of our last show. This is Kameron. He is in my chior class at Higley and in the play he was my husband,
Yussel the hat maker. I think he had three lines.. haha.
And this is Tyler. Him and I got super close in the last two weeks or so.
He's a bit older than me... in his 20s somewhere. He promised to take me skydiving after I turn 18! Him and I loved to joke around and to pull pranks on other cast members.
Here is a video of one we did. Its totally fake but it looks really real. I got a bunch of people to come down the hallway and pretend like i was taking pictures and a video, once Tyler heard me say 'everybody say hi!!' he came out of the dressing room, and well... you'll see.

After he did that everyone like screamed and ran over to him. hahahaha The lady that played yenta was like wabbling over with her cane and then Tyler popped up and started laughing and she hit him with her cane. It was soo funny!

Well thats it for now. We got some pictures professionally taken so when I get those i'll put them up so you can see pictures of the actual play. :D

Love you all!

Life has been super boring lately without the play. I missed everyone from it really bad. Yearbook is picking up again and its kinda tricky balancing those two lately. Tennis off season has started back up but I've been too busy to go. :[ maybe next week. I'm on south beach diet and working out with two of my friend so we can try to get in shape for sport seasons coming up and of course prom in a few months ;] oh and i already think i found my dress! yay! we will see tho

My friend got an ipod touch and i can't stop playing with it! He let me borrow it today and its sooo much fun! think i could talk mom into getting me one? hahaha jusst kidding.

Not much else going on with me the past few days. so i guess this is it! bye love you all :D

Sunday night...

and nothing much better to do so more blogging. hoorayyy.

Shows yesterday went well. in between a few of us got panda. Then straight back to work on the show. Its very tiring but super worth it. I'm having so much fun!

Like i said before Fiddler takes up my life so i don't have much to write.

Taylor Jensen's farewell was today. I cried pretty much all of sacrament meeting. He was my first friend when i moved here and it was a combination of sadness to see him leave, and scared at the fact I'm old enough so many of my friends are leaving. Straight after Taylor's farewell i went to Trevor Rasmussen's farewell witch was good. He was an old seminary buddy. So many people are leaving! I have another farewell to go to next week! crazy crazy crazy. Then later i went to Taylor's open house. It was fun. lots of food and lots of people. I'm hoping to go do something with him tomorrow morning. He gets set apart tomorrow night. Its so freaky that my close friends are leaving me!

Tomorrow i don't have school. whoot whoot. but i have to wake up early anyways because the young women are getting all dressed up in wedding dresses, or any white or light colored dress, and going to the temple and Jeff [the guy that took our family pictures] is taking our picture in front of the mesa temple and the leaders are printing them out and framing them and then giving them to us to keep as a reminder to get ready to get married in the temple. Cute idea isn't it? theres an idea for whatever ones of you are in YW. My only problem is i have no dress to wear. eep.

well Alice is attacking my feet. i should go feed her! bye family!

Hey Family!

Hey!
Mom and I were looking at your guys' blogs and she told me I should make one too so you all knew what was goin on in my life. So TADA! Yayy. Cortney has a blog now.

Life at this moment is pretty much consumed by the play. At least I'm having fun with it. I wait for school to end so I can go to rehearsals. I've made a lot of new friends through it. I started only knowing two people doing it but now I know pretty much everyone in the play and for the most part we get along really well. There is always drama when it comes to teenagers doing something like this together tho.
I've gotten really close with three girls: Jill, who went to my same middle school so we sort of knew each other before, her friend Amanda, and Bianca a really sweet girl that is a lot of fun to be around. Jill plays Motel's mother in the play, Amanda is an understudy for Tzitel and Bianca plays Fruma Sarah. She has one of the best voices ever. Kody hangs out with us too, he plays Fyedka, but I've known Kody for a long time. Hes in my English class. All him and i do at school anymore is sit together and talk play stuff. Also I made really good friends with a boy named Skyler, he plays Motel, and is really funny. He reminds me alot alot of our cousin Justin somehow tho. I think its the way he talks. I've made alot of other friends that are really cool, but those are the ones i talk to most. But yeah anyways I'm glad I've made cool friends.
Yesterday before the show was a pretty cool experience. Friday was the Jewish sabbath, so like they do in sabbath prayer the cast got together in the green room and had a little sabbath meal. The girl who plays Hotel, Sabrina, is really Jewish so she was teaching us alot about what they do and why they do it. They said the whole sabbath prayer and they had a ton of the special bread they make and we all passed it around it and ate it. It was really neat. And yesterday after the show we got the entire cast and most of the crew to go to applebees. It was alot of fun. There were so many of us they practically cleared out half the restaurant and we had it all to ourselves. It was really fun. The guy who plays Tevye is a crack up. He always makes everyone laugh. We ended up eating til past midnight, and i had to drive Jill home (she lives forever away) so i didn't get home til late late. I crashed pretty hard. The play is exhausting.
But yeah, other than that there isn't much going on. Tennis season is coming up. I'm excited for that. I need to get in shape!! Crazy! My other play, once upon a mattress got pushed back two weeks so now its gonna show in April instead of late march. Which is good because i don't have to worry about double rehearsals. My DJ club is goin pretty awesome. We're getting ready for our club/techno dance in February. That should be alot of fun. We got a lot of new strobe lights and such and a new mantle thing for them to hang off of on the ceiling of the gym. Its gonna be legit. :] Yearbook is going good. I've been so busy with my play i havn't had time to take many pictures lately, which makes me really sad because i love doing it so much. But the joy of being an editor is you have the power to make the lesser people do your job when ur busy. Haha. We have another convention coming up, but this one is in Phoenix, so i'm not going very far unfortunately. I love taking trips. Choir has a festival coming up on February 13th and 14th. We're going up to flagstaff to compete and get critiqued. Its going to be so fun! And we've been talking about a choir tour, to maybe California or something later on in the year. I would love that! We've been working really hard on our songs and we just started a new one that is soo beautiful! Theres a solo in it and i'm debating going for it. hmmm... we'll have to see.
But yeah. Thats about it! :] I'm excited, we have a double showing of fiddler today and then hopefully after that i'm going to go see Paul Blart, the Mall Cop with some people from the cast. But yeah I love you all! Hope you're having fun!!

Hey

I'll have pictures of fiddler up soon so u can all see
