Hey!
Mom and I were looking at your
guys' blogs and she told me I should make one too so you all knew what was
goin on in my life. So
TADA!
Yayy. Cortney has a blog now.
Life at this moment is pretty much consumed by the play. At least
I'm having fun with it. I wait for school to end so I can go to
rehearsals. I've made
a lot of new friends through it. I started only knowing two people doing it but now I know pretty much everyone in the play and for the most part we get along really well. There is always drama when it comes to
teenagers doing something like this together tho.
I've gotten really close with three girls: Jill, who went to my same middle school so we sort of knew
each other before, her friend Amanda, and Bianca a really sweet girl that is a lot of fun to be around. Jill plays Motel's mother in the play, Amanda is an understudy for
Tzitel and Bianca plays
Fruma Sarah. She has one of the best voices ever.
Kody hangs out with us too, he plays
Fyedka, but I've known
Kody for a long time. Hes in my
English class. All him and i do at school anymore is sit together and talk play stuff. Also I made really good friends with a boy named Skyler, he plays Motel, and is really funny. He reminds me
alot alot of our cousin Justin somehow tho. I think its the way he talks. I've made
alot of other friends that are really cool, but those are the ones i talk to most. But yeah anyways I'm glad
I've made cool friends.
Yesterday before the show was a pretty cool
experience. Friday was the
Jewish sabbath, so like they do in sabbath prayer the cast got together in the green room and had a little sabbath meal. The girl who plays Hotel, Sabrina, is really
Jewish so she was teaching us
alot about what they do and why they do it. They said the whole sabbath prayer and they had a ton of the special bread they make and we all passed it around it and ate it. It was really neat. And
yesterday after the show we got the entire cast and most of the crew to go to
applebees. It was
alot of fun. There were so many of us they practically cleared out half the
restaurant and we had it all to ourselves. It was really fun. The guy who plays
Tevye is a crack up. He always makes everyone laugh. We ended up eating til past midnight, and i had to drive Jill home (she lives forever away) so i didn't get home til late late. I crashed pretty hard. The play is exhausting.
But yeah, other than that there isn't much going on. Tennis season is coming up. I'm excited for that. I need to get in shape!! Crazy! My other play, once upon a mattress got pushed back two weeks so now its gonna show in April instead of late march. Which is good because i don't have to worry about double
rehearsals. My DJ club is
goin pretty awesome. We're getting ready for our club/techno dance in
February. That should be
alot of fun. We got a lot of new strobe lights and such and a new mantle thing for them to hang off of on the ceiling of the gym. Its gonna be legit. :] Yearbook is going good. I've been so busy with my play i
havn't had time to take many pictures lately, which makes me really sad because i love doing it so much. But the joy of being an editor is you have the power to make the lesser people do your job when
ur busy.
Haha. We have another convention coming up, but this one is in
Phoenix, so
i'm not going very far unfortunately. I love taking trips.
Choir has a
festival coming up on
February 13
th and 14
th. We're going up to flagstaff to compete and get critiqued. Its going to be so fun! And we've been talking about a
choir tour, to maybe
California or something later on in the year. I would love that! We've been working really hard on our songs and we just started a new one that is
soo beautiful!
Theres a solo in it and
i'm debating going for it.
hmmm... we'll have to see.
But yeah.
Thats about it! :] I'm excited, we have a double showing of fiddler today and then hopefully after that
i'm going to go see Paul
Blart, the Mall Cop with some people from the cast. But yeah I love you all! Hope you're having fun!!
